Client Meeting

There is no formula for a successful MAP meeting - just follow the client's lead and put together a plan that works. The action plan can be woven into other services, or time can be set aside to devote specifically to creating the MAP. It may require several meetings to complete the full plan.

MAP Meeting Tasks and Goals
To create the MAP, take each goal and create a few action steps (things to learn, decide or do). Your client may want to set a due date for meeting the goal; think about any barriers that might keep him/her from meeting it; and identify any costs that might be involved. Click here for a sample MAP.

Schedule meetings in a quiet, private place where the client feels comfortable. Set a light tone and make it the client's process. One effective approach is to discuss why every bit of information is important or significant, given the client's situation/goals. Approach a few goals at a time (keep sessions to less than 1.5 hours), and offer specific, tangible action steps for each.
